Natural cosmetics brand packaging

Paloma is a young brand of natural handmade cosmetics created in southern Russia. Each cosmetic product is 100% natural and originates from plants (oils, clays, salts, minerals, flowers and herbs). Therefore, they have a short shelf life. The founders of the project follow a philosophy based on naturalness and genuineness. They are convinced that a great and useful product can only be created in harmony with nature.

We were looking for a way to present this aspect graphically. The plant shadows cast on women’s skin have become a peculiar metaphor for us. This is how the key element of the brand image emerged: a reflection of nature in ourselves.
As regards the photoshoot, we didn’t call for models but Paloma’s clients. The cast included girls with different appearance and features (skin tones, freckles, birthmarks and wrinkles). We decided to keep the photographs as realistic as possible. For each product, an image is used to illustrate where the product should be applied. Thus, this creates a patchwork of different fragments of female faces and bodies, which can be examined endlessly.

The general idea of the brand is supported by the logo, which takes the shape of a hand stamp. The metaphor of light and shadow also appears in the drop cap "Р", while the descriptor "natural beauty" defines the brand positioning. The design was developed in such a way as to reflect the brand’s gentle, feminine character. And all in all, it adapts well to different types of packaging.
